React and Its Pretenders to the Throne: Is News of React’s Death Premature?

In this talk, I’ll show you some pretenders for the throne, pour water on the hot embers of the Revolution, and see what’s behind the latest dump-a-library craze. You don’t have to be a React expert to attend.

Stars die. Eventually, they run out of fuel, and start fusing heavier and heavier atoms until they either blow up or turn into a cinder or black hole.
Every library and framework dies. Every. Single. One. Eventually. The constant flow of “React is dying/React is dead/long live the Emperor” seems to have reached a crescendo.

But why now? Heck, I still run into people who have jQuery in their applications, or Angular.js. The code still has to run somewhere! And is React still good enough for your applications today?

I’ll dive into the reasons React became so popular, and whether, at this point in time, where even kindergarten-age children have created a smaller, faster component API, and they probably know more about how useEffect works than you do, and discuss whether React is going the way of the dodo.
